Thank God for N.E.D.!!!

We're quite pleased to be able to report that the results of my most recent CT scan show N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease)!  And all the cancer/tumor markers in my blood are at normal (not elevated) levels!  Praise God!  Prayer works miracles!  I'm good for at least another 3 months or so (until my next CT scan)!  I love N.E.D.!  Better N.E.D. than dead!  We're elated, of course!  I'll find out tomorrow whether I need another chemo treatment or not (I'm hoping not, but if I do need to get one more chemo treatment--icing on the cake, making the rubble bounce [to mix metaphors!], then so be it!)--Thanks again for all your positive thoughts and vibes and prayers and best wishes!  They're all appreciated so much, as are you all!  It's such a wonderful, blessed relief to be free of cancer anxiety for a while!  Doxa soi, Kurie!  {Hellenistic Greek meaning "Glory to You, Lord!"}

On pins and needles (figuratively, of course!)!

Caroline and I go in to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) this afternoon to meet with my wonderful, wizardly surgeon, Dr. Paul Mansfield!  We'll learn the results of my most recent CT scan (Computerized Tomography, an amazing way to get exposed to the equivalent of hundreds, if not thousands, of chest x-rays all within the space of half an hour, at the most!), which I had over a week ago, on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 (which also happened to be the 60th wedding anniversary of my Uncle Dick and Aunt Helen, and which also was one day before the 55th wedding anniversary of my parents, Burr and Cynthia!)--it has been a little nerve-wracking waiting to get the results of the CT scan.  We're sincerely hoping and praying that the result is N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease)!  If we do get the result of N.E.D., that would be truly wonderful!  I may not even have to take another chemotherapy treatment, which I'm currently scheduled to receive tomorrow!  On the other hand, if there is still some E.D. (Evidence of Disease, not Environmental Defense or that other "ED" that involves little blue pills!), that will, of course, be somewhat disappointing, but at least we will know more about what's going on with any tumors that happen to be hanging around, uninvited and definitely unwelcome, in my body!  We're scheduled to meet with my wonderful, sagacious colorectal oncologist, Dr. Imad Shureiqi, tomorrow to further discuss the CT scan results (whatever they are!) and determine where we go from here, treatment-wise!  As is said sometimes in Latin, Dum Spiro, Spero (while there's breath, there's hope!)!
